COVID-19 POLICY

It is the purpose of the League to put forward every effort to ensure all its youth athletes play a full season, with the goal of providing a safe environment that ensures the opportunity to continue playing by working to avoid violating any local policies which could jeopardize League operations. This policy is in addition to and within the League’s Code of Conduct.

The League will take measures to reduce interactions in confined spaces and to maintain operations within the CCUSD policy, which may include: staggered game start times, providing sanitizer or disinfectant cleaners, optimizing batting cage allocations, managing public/spectator spaces, and the webcasting of games and scores through video, if possible.

To conform with the CCUSD COVID-19 policy and to reduce the risks of transmission and suspension of League operations, all League participants - coaches, players, spectators, and league officials agree to and shall adhere to the following policy:

  • Each player shall be allowed one spectator, including coaches, for each game or practice in accordance with CCUSD’s facility attendance policy.
  • The COVID Waiver Form shall include a list of authorized attendees for each child and will be carried by the Coach.
  • Players shall not share the following equipment: bats, gloves, helmets, defensive protective masks, water bottles.
  • Catcher’s equipment shall be cleaned between players and after games by each team using league-provided sanitizer and/or disinfectant wipes.
  • Coaches and players shall wear masks or gaiters while in the dugout. Masks are not required during play on the field.
  • Coaches shall use masks when approaching umpires for substitutions or questions.
  • Spectators or other attendees, including league officials, must wear masks while at the facility and practice social distancing. We urge all spectators to bring chairs.

Umpires and League officials - including facility managers - are responsible for and have the authority to administer this policy, which may be changed by the Board of Directors.

Violation of this policy will result in at first a warning. Continued violation will result in disqualification (ejection) for coaches and players; spectators will be asked to leave the facility with their child.

If a coach or player is ejected from a game (not as a result of a spectator violating this policy) the Code of Conduct penalties will apply.

Quarantine Policy for Primary and Secondary Exposures

In the event a coach, player, or umpire has a COVID exposure, the individual must quarantine from league activities (including practices and games) for a period of five (5) days with a negative test submitted to the League Safety Officer or seven (7) days without a test. In the event a coach, player, or umpire has tested positive for COVID, the team must be quarantined from league activities (including practices and games) for a period of seven (7) days from exposure.

In all cases, if a coach, player, or umpire is not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms, they should not attend league activities (including practices and games).
